Need to make a quick stop to run some errands but don't want to pay parking lot fees?  Try these 'secret' parking spots that many have used over the years.
  • Rihga Royal Hotel:  temporary parking available in the row in front of the main entrance.  If someone asks, just pretend you're picking up a hotel guest.  No questions will be asked.  The cabs will even move out of the way for you.
  • NTT building next to Rihga Royal: this is a good one.  Pass the front and parking lot entrance of Rihga Royal and you'll see a narrow entrance for the parking lot alongside an NTT building.  After 7pm, this lot is quite empty.  We've used it several times while running quick errands downtown.
  • Parco/Subway: Behind Parco department store, street perpendicular to the main drag, almost directly in front of Subway, next to Haagen Daas.  Park on the left, sort of the back side of Haagen Daas.
  • Mario Espresso: along the park near Mario Espresso turns out to be a great place to leave the car temporarily while picking up a pizza or a sandwich at Subway's.

Warning!!  JapanInYourPalm.com is NOT responsible for any citations you obtain while using parking suggested here.  In the past, these spots have been used for very short term parking without much difficulty.  Good luck!
