LinkedIn.com & Events Mashup
Adds icons and links for Eventful, WorkIt and Upcoming to the upper right corner of your LinkedIn pages. Simply adds some DOM structure to the LinkedIn page. Does not scrape any information from your pages. Change the line "var city = 'San+Francisco'" to your city. Update as needed with sites that may be more relevant to where you live. (Already have Greasemonkey? Get the script now.)

How does it work ?
- Runs on top of LinkedIn.com web pages. Doesn't alter the linkedin.com application.
- Injects a tiny bit of javascript every time you pull up a LinkedIn.com page
- Locates the area in the upper right hand corner of each page..
- Builds several urls and icons to local event sites.
- This script only works on the Firefox browser
- This script only affects your local view on your machine. i.e. nobody else sees it this way unless they've also installed the LinkedIn & Events Mashup. The LinkedIn application has no knowledge of this script running on your machine.
- Security is not an issue. You are not providing your linkedin.com password to the script or anything like this. The script only runs on your local browser, and you need to be signed into linkedin.com as usual. This script simply adds the html to the news links.
How do I get it ?
- If you don't have the Greasemonkey Extension installed on your firefox browser, the setup involves 2 steps
1.) Install the Greasemonkey Firefox Extension 2.) Install the LinkedIn & Events Mashup Greasemonkey script (rides on top of the Greasemonkey Extension)
- Open your Firefox browser (PC or Mac), and install the Greasemonkey Firefox extension if you don't already have it. Get that here: Greasemonkey extension. (skip this step if you already have the little monkey in the lower right corner of your firefox screen)
- Be sure the little monkey icon is lit up in the lower right corner of your browser. You can turn Greasemonkey on and off by clicking on this icon.
- Install the LinkedIn & Events mashup script from here LinkedIn & Events mashup
- If Greasemonkey is on, it should ask you if you want to install the script, click the "Install" button.
- Goto any page on LinkedIn.com. You should see 3 event sites' icons similar to that shown in the image above.
- Click on any icon-link, and it opens a new page or new tab (depending on your browser's setting) with the current events from the site you clicked.
- I suggest you alter your Firefox preferences to open New Page in a New Tab. Else you'll get many new browser windows when using this script. Goto Firefox > Preferences > Tabs.. then click the "a new tab" option. Here is a screenshot on OS X.
