Directions Find Tenmaya. Walk east along the main street car street past Mitsukoshi. Go one more street and you'll see a large Red/Orange UCC Coffee sign overhead the road leading into Nagarekawa. Take this street down into Nagarekawa. Follow this street until you come to the 3rd street (on your left). Turn left and you'll quickly notice the sign reading "Uncle Kazu" on a building a short bit down on your left. Go in and take the elevator the 2nd floor. Turn left out of the elevator and you'll see the sign for Uncle Kazu. |
Description Reading the name of this bar, you get the feeling of a warm, comfortable place. When you walk in, that's exactly what you get. The bar is covered in dark wood everywhere (walls, floors, ceiling). There are numerous shelves everywhere keeping a wide varying assortment of its patrons' bottles. There is a large bar/table with most of the seating around it, and also a couple small tables. The owner (Uncle Kazu) is a friendly, talkative guy that's very easy going and enjoyable to talk to. He lived in the U.S. for several years and has many good stories to tell about his experiences there. There's also an English drink menu and an accompanying drink recipe book so you can order your favorite drink and even explore the ingredients of other interesting concoctions you haven't heard of before. |
