Walking Directions
Find Tenmaya.  Walk east along the main street (with the streetcars).  Pass Mitsukoshi and take the 2nd right.  There will be a large red/orange & white UCC Coffee sign overhead. Turn right here and head into Nagarekawa.  Walk down the street until you come to the 7th cross street (on yur right).   Look for the My Place sign at the corner on your right.  The building has red & blue neon along the exterior.

Description
This very small establishment consists of a bar and several karaoke TVs.  Unlike other karaoke bars, the main purpose here seems to be the bar itself, and the secondary purpose is to sing karaoke (200 Yen/song).  With 2 wireless microphones, it's easy to join in when your favorite song comes on (Note for Detroiters: almost all of the heavy metal songs have a video of some random long-haired guys walking around various parts of Detroit).  The bar layout is similar to that found in a hostess bar.  The female bartending staff will keep your beer topped off and can carry on a conversation with you (the staff can speak English).  They even remember your name.  It's an interesting touch, but a little strange if you're not used to it.
