Directions Find Tenmaya. Walk west along the main street (with the streetcars). Go past Fukuya department store and turn left into the covered shopping street. Take your first right, then your first left, and finally your first right. The entrance can be seen on your right as a large outdoor staircase winds around downstairs (to Jamaica's). Enter here but instead of going down the stairs to the right, veer left down the kind of outdoor hallway. The elevator is on your right hand side. Go up to 5F and you're there.

Description This multi-themed bar conglomerate is quite an interesting mix of atmospheres. On the first level is a dark area with small tables. This area is quite drafty and even boasts an array of kerosene heaters in the wintertime. When you go up the stairs to the next level you find a glowing green & white bar. This is set to be very trendy with a decorative display of record albums and drink bottles up behind the bar. If you continue up one more level you find yourself in a larger room, again dimly lit. This room has big comfy chairs and some sofas to relax in. Overall, all the floors seem to have the same atmosphere of relaxation and being laid-back. The place can sometimes be crowded as it seems to be popular to come here, relax, have a few drinks, and chat with friends. It's worth checking out just to get a taste of a different atmosphere. |
