About Chikara
Hours: 10am to 12:30am

The Chikara udon/soba restaurant chain can be found throughout downtown Hiroshima.  It's fast, convenient and delicious.   Pay for your meal and receive a wooden ticket before sitting down.  There is also a carry out window.

Walking directions
From Tenmaya corner:
Cross north over the streetcar tracks and head left (west) on the main densha street.  Make your first right turn (@ traffic light).  Chikara is just past the first block on the right

From Rihga Royal Hotel:
Walk south towards the Sogo department store.  Make a left at the corner (you're now heading east on streetcar line).  Make a left at the 4th traffic light (just past the large Tokyu Hands department store).  Chikara is just past the first block on your right.

There is another Chikara across the street from Mr. Donuts, a block behind the Ford building downtown.

Soup dishes - select either Udon (thick) or Soba (thin) style noodles
Plain - just soup and noodles (kake), 320 yen
Beef (niku), 500 yen
Egg (tamago), 390 yen
Tempura (tempura), 470 yen
Tempura with egg (tentoji), 540 yen
Curry (karei), 500 yen
Herring fish (nishin), 600 yen
Fried tofu (kitsune), 390 yen
Beef & egg (tanintoji), 500 yen
Chinese style ramen (chuka-soba), 540 yen

Other dishes
Inari (go moku inari), 100 yen  - fried tofu wrapped around rice ball.

The beef udon is good and the inari sushi is a must.  The Curry Udon is also good.
